I haven't actually visited this restaurant myself but came across it on www.squaremeal.co.uk while searching for somewhere suitable for our office Christmas lunch. The review on "square meal" is good - apparently this restaurant is full of atmosphere, with incense, candles, rose petals floating on water & a nightly belly dancer. Service is quoted as being usually ‘charming’, with pleasant staff who are happy to give explanations of the mezze menu. Cooking can also be excellent but chiefly (according to Square meal) this is a place to cherish for its atmosphere. It seems to be that the only problem is a two-hour time limit on tables & occasional long waits for food & drink - however, overall looks like a good place to visit.

Occo Moorish 15 Derngate Northampton NN1 1TY |
A lovely restaurant with great decor - if a little small. Tables and cushion seating, small bar, shisha pipes and friendly hosts. Bellydancers perform on Fridays and Saturdays (also on Thursdays if the restaurant is busy enough). |

Zeus
20 High Street

A lively Greek restaurant with a full programme of entertainment. This includes traditional Greek dancers and a bellydancer at the weekends including the fabulous Bev Sabatella. The music is not authentically Arabic - but it is good for a party night out

Maroush 21 Edgware Road London W2

I have been to this restaurant on several occasions and it has never disappointed. For a fabulous night out filled with music, dance, song and more.... Fantastic singers, musicians and dancers every night of the week - and the food is delicious too! The Arab diners have no hesitation in getting up to dance - even while the singers are performing. It is pricey but worth it for that special authentic Arab night out. - definitely my favourite!

Hafez Restaurant
559 Finchley Road, London,
NW3 7BJ

A basement restaurant - quite small but nice atmosphere and fantastic Iranian food! When we were there (on a Saturday night) the restaurant was full and they had a beautiful, skilful and really friendly bellydancer. A joy to see and worth while trying for a night out. |

Tarboush 143 Edgware Road London |
Nabila of Germany introduced me to this restaurant. Being a vegetarian I tried the baby stuffed Aubergines which were absolutely delicious! I subsequenlty organised a student night out for my ladies - and off we trundled in a mini bus on a Friday night in May to try Tarboush and its evening entertainment. It is a lovely restaurant - beautifully decorated - has live music and so there is the opportunity to dance (although the dance floor is a little small). The bellydancer was young, skilful and beautiful - all in all a very nice night out. |

The Spice Lounge no longer runs an Arabic/Bollywood evening. This has been changed solely to a Bollywood/Bhangra night. They have also stopped the bellydance slot and no longer have a bellydancer performing as part of the evening's entertainment. |
